Born in 2011, MonstrARTity Creative Community is a not-for-profit organization, based in Mississauga and committed to providing entertainment for the young and old alike. Ever expanding our productions, MonstrARTity is the producer of Bollywood Monster Mashup, which is the largest South Asian festival in Canada, as well as the team behind the award-winning Monster Rock Orchestra show.

This application is for the expansion of “Bollywood Monster Mashup ” (BMM), a multi-disciplinary free event taking place August 3-9, 2015 at Mississauga Celebration Square. The event is now six days compared to the one day event we supported in 2013.

This year the festival will be enhancing their regular programming and adding several new features that will take place in Mississauga and downtown Toronto.

(1) The BMM’s concert series will be expanded with more artists and increased caliber of musicians and dancers. Organizers intend to add an international Bollywood headliner lineup on Friday August 7th.The concert on Saturday August 8 will also include special Pan Am themed original music & dance creations entitled Bollywood Latin Orchestra, as well as a special Bollywood Tap Dance show in collaboration with partner What’s On Tap! They are also increasing the production quality of the show by adding a massive laser & light show;

(2) Bollywood Monster Teaser Party at Club Revival. Expanding the marketing budget for the popular LGBT urban Bollywood DJ event with renowned female DJ Amita;

(3) Bollywood Monster Painting Party at The Host. A party where a local artist guides guests through creating a South Asian themed painting on canvas;

(4) Bollywood Monster VIP & Media Reception at City Hall will be expanding to include a red carpet reception for media & VIPs, meet & greet with Canadian and international celebrities, and talent preview;

(5) There will be a special “media corner” at the reception in order for all artists, politicians, sponsors and partner organizations to interview with as many TV, radio & newspaper entities as possible;

(6) Bollywood Monster Comedy Night will be moving to a larger venue (C Banquets) and adding an international headliner comic Aparna Nacherla;

(7) The addition of special Pan Am themed activities with PAMA (Peel Art Gallery Museum + Archives) at the Bollywood Monster KidZone at Celebration Square;

(8) The Bollywood Monster Film Festival will be expanding this year to include special curated films by Reel Asian Film Festival;

(9) Bollywood Monster Dance Lessons at Celebration Square (free Bollywood dance lessons with Tricube Dance); and

(10) Bollywood Monster Marketplace at Celebration Square. The outdoor food, fashion and jewelry marketplace will be expanding the number of vendors participated.
