Norm Foster Theatre Festival
Incorporated in 2015, The Norm Foster Festival is a theatre company inspired by the work of internationally renowned Canadian playwright Norm Foster. Their mission is to showcase the heart and humour of Foster's writing in a dedicated environment, employing the finest Canadian theatre practitioners and to foster and support emerging and established Canadian playwrights interested in stories that are entertaining but also deeply meaningful to and reflective of their history. The organization operates as a not-for-profit charitable organization, and will produce its second season of three fully professional productions from June to August, 2017 in Cairns Hall at the FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre in St. Catharines.

Addition of a Second World Premiere and New Group Packages
This application is for “Addition of a Second World Premiere”, taking place June 21 to August 27, 2017 in the 200-seat Cairns Hall at the First Ontario Performing Arts Centre (PAC) in St. Catharines. For its second season the Festival will be staging a second world premiere to its three-play program. Organizers will also be adding a catered lunch to their matinee performances. The two world premieres are: (1) “Screwball Comedy”. Running from June 21 to July 7, 2017 with 18 scheduled performances split between 2pm matinee and 8pm evening shows, this comedy is still in production. Casting will take place in January 2017; and (2) “Lunenburg”. Running from August 22 until August 18 at the FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre and will tour to the Rose Theatre in Brampton for five performances the following week. Part mystery, part romance, the play is an examination of US/Canadian relations. It will be directed by Patricia Vanstone and will be designed by Peter Hartwell. Casting will take place in January 2017. Based on feedback from tour operators, the Festival will be adding on-site lunches to their matinee performances. Buses will unload groups at designated bays at the PAC for a sit-down buffet lunch that will be served in Robertson Hall overlooking the Marilyn I Walker School of Fine and Performing Arts and the old Mill Raceway.
