The Grove Theatre is a professional performing arts company located in Fenelon Falls, Ontario, and the first artistic venture of its kind in this Kawartha Lakes community. At its idyllically located outdoor amphitheater, The Grove presents an annual season of its own theatre productions, mounted in repertory, along with appearances by renowned Canadian guest artists, community events, and now, in the latest addition to its programming, a drama camp for young people.

This application is for “Grove Theatre's Expanded 2025 Theatre Season”, taking place April 1 to September 2, 2025, at The Grove Theatre’s outdoor amphitheatre in Fenelon Falls. Programming details include:

(1) production of Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story: this is the largest-scale production in the company’s history, featuring a cast of 12 with each cast member (except the actor playing Buddy) taking on multiple roles;

(2) production of three cabaret-style tribute performances dedicated to specific musicians and genres, including: (i) Canadian Legends (songs by Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, Bryan Adams, Gordon Lightfoot, and more in a performance that tells the story of these artists and their contribution to music in Canada and the world); (ii) Best of Broadway (building the musical knowledge of their audiences by highlighting some of the most loved show stopping songs on Broadway); and (iii) Frank Sinatra & the Rat Pack (a performance built on old standards, appealing to audiences while offering different vocal challenges for the artists); and

(3) high-profile guest artists throughout the summer in addition to The Grove’s own productions (Jim Cuddy is confirmed for this year and are in negotiations with others).
