Carassauga Festival Inc. was founded in 1985 to organize a city-wide multicultural festival to promote understanding, respect and cooperation among all Canadians of different heritage in the City of Mississauga. The Festival is made of different pavilions representing countries or regions of the world. Pavilions are operated by Mississauga-based non-profit organizations and depict the culture of their country/region of origin through food, music, art, dance, fashion shows, historical displays, games and vendors.

This application is for “Carassauga Festival of Cultures – 40th Anniversary”, taking place May 24 to May 25, 2025, at six locations throughout Mississauga and shared stages at the Paramount Fine Foods Centre. This milestone anniversary will be celebrated with enhanced national and international entertainment presentations.

Programming includes:

(1) indoor (community rinks and halls) and outdoor (parking lots, tents) locations that showcase 23 cultural pavilions;

(2) outdoor area featuring five cultural pavilions in tents, an outdoor stage, kids zone area with Midway Rides and activities, food trucks and

community vendors;

(3) indoor area featuring 18 cultural pavilions with 10 stages, vendors, displays, photo booths and décor;

(4) 18 hours of entertainment by over 2,500 local, national and international artists comprised of live bands, dance groups, singers, musicians, actors and poets;

(5) cultural learnings through displays and storytelling, artisans’ hands-on activities, a variety of food demonstrations with sampling, dance lessons and craft activities; and

(6) enhanced entertainment programming will consist of 10-15 Canadian and international stages.
