Incorporated in 2022, Art and Water Cultural Group presents unique and interactive arts programming in the form of public, multidisciplinary performances and events. Art and Water create outdoor performance spaces for artistic experiences on the water, to support and empower emerging artists in their growth and encourage audiences to reconnect with art & water.

This application is for “The Pirate Life Theatre Expansion”, taking place May 3 to October 1, 2025, at ports in Barrie , Ottawa , Toronto, and Hamilton. Art & Water’s Pirate Life Theatre is an immersive children’s theatre experience performed on a real pirate ship. Programming includes:

(1) original pirate-themed interactive play with professional actors involving audience participation and immersive storytelling with interactive set designs (all performers are contracted local performers for the season); and

(2) performances run four times daily, five days a week including special weekend shows with extended narratives and additional cast members (shows occur on Art and Water Cultural Group’s pirate ships that take off from docks located in Hamilton, Ottawa, Toronto, and Barrie).
